Meg Gregory owns the Black Sheep Creamery with her husband, Brad. They have been raising sheep and milking them for 15 years. The Creamery has been in operation since 2004. The wool project began in 2011 with the help of Susan Gehringer of Grist Creative. The store and our dreams of cheese retail space have come to pass with the encouragement of Kathy and Tom Green, Susan and Frank Hackett, our wonderful local community and many, many others.
Kathy Green is a life-long crafter with a love of all fiber-y things. She learned to crochet in high school, learned to knit in 2009, learned to spin in 2014, and is excited to learn many new crafts. Kathy and Meg met in 2011 at the Oregon Flock and Fiber Festival, which is an hour and a half from home – even though they live 6 miles apart. It wasn’t long before Kathy started helping at the farm with shearing and then making cheese. When Meg mentioned wanting to open a yarn store and move the Creamery into town, Kathy jumped at the opportunity to work with Meg doing what she loves the most – encouraging others to try their hands at all things fiber related.
