Fiber Prep, What to do with a Fleece

Fiber Preparation Workshop
There are so many spinning tools for a fiber artist! Hand carders, drum carders, flick carders, and combs, Oh My! Did someone give you a fleece, but you do not know where to start with it? Is it a good fleece or should it be compost? In this four-hour workshop (with a lunch break) we will explore a full sheep fleece, learn its parts and best fibers for spinning, how to clean it, and what tools to use to process the fiber for your intended project. Even if you never intend to process a raw fleece for spinning this workshop will give you a better understanding of fiber, staple length, texture, and how to test for soundness (even if you purchase an already cleaned fleece).
Let us come together, learn, feel, and understand the amazing properties of wool!
