Description: Students will be taught lace basics, tricks and tips. Topics will include: chart reading, provisional cast on, applied borders, lifelines, Russian joins, fixing mistakes, Japanese stitches, double yarn overs, cables and lace, beads, smocking stitch, circular design, nupps and patterns on both sides. After the completion of these series of classes, students will be able to tackle any lace pattern with confidence and have a beautiful shawl.
Supplies for the first class: 1370 yds of DK weight yarn, US#6 (32" length) circular needles with sharp tips, size F crochet hook, smooth contrasting colored waste yarn (approx. 21 yards), removable stitch markers, tapestry needle, skein of smooth, light colored worsted weight yarn and appropriate sized needles for a class practice swatch, Building with Lace Book.
