Knit in Public Day - Technique Class: A Study of Increases & Decreases

When looking at patterns there are a number of increases or decreases that may be included in the garment. In this class we will focus on a handful of commonly used increases and decreases by making a swatch and practicing these techniques. By the end of class you will have a better understanding of why these are used often and to feel more confident with these stitches.
Increases you will learn: make 1 left leaning (M1L), make 1 right leaning (M1R), knit front and back, knit front and slip back stitch, yarn over, central double increase.
Decrease stitches you will learn: knit 2 together, slip slip knit, center double decrease.
Supplies needed: yarn weight that is either dk, worsted, aran. Something that you can easily see. Needles to match the yarn that you have chosen, and stitch markers.
Skills needed: casting on, knitting/purling, casting off.
