My First Sweater Class: The Warm Up Sweater

So you’ve been wanting to knit a sweater, but something keeps holding you back… This is your opportunity to stretch your skills and prove to yourself that yes indeed, you can knit a sweater! This is a great entry into the adventures of sweater knitting. It is knit from the top down with raglan sleeves, with a relaxed silhouette, that is perfect for hiking or curling up on the sofa.

You will learn how to shape the neckline, raglan sleeves, and twisted stitches.

Between class sessions you will receive pattern support from Melissa Zentz. You also have the opportunity to be part of the group text chat to share your progress or frustrations with the group. This is a community of support for all participants!

Skills needed: casting on, knitting, purling, increasing stitches.

Supplies needed: circular and DPN needle sizes 7 & 8, 700-1672 yards of aran weight yarn, stitch markers, tapestry needle, scrap yarn.

Yarn suggestions: Plymouth Homestead, WYS The Croft, Studio Donegal Soft Donegal.
