This extra fine gauge felting needle is just what you need for finishing all your sculptural (3-D) needle felting projects, and for a final polish of your wool paintings! With barbs at the tip, this needle works great to smooth felted surfaces, and does not need to be inserted very deeply; it works best with very shallow stabbing. By keeping it very shallow, it will grab stray surface hairs and lock them into the surface of your project, reducing that fuzzy look. It will also cover and close any needle holes that might remain from heavier felting needles, or when using fine wools, merino roving/top, or softer plant fibers. A must have size in the tool chest for every needle felter.
Be sure to purchase adequate yarn to complete your project at the same time as dye lots will likely change. Thank you
Please note all computer monitors reflect colors differently. We have done our best to do justice to these beautiful colors.
It's great for finishing up highly detailed sculptural pieces, and giving the final smooth finish to flat (2-D) needle felt wool paintings.
To prevent rust, store in a dry location. Keeping them in a container, like a pin cushion container or mug stuffed with core wool, is a great way to keep moisture away from the steel.
TIP: When using, to reduce the chance of snapping the needle, be sure to push the needle in and pull it out at the same angle. Don't bend it while felting.
