Wendy Clark has been working with fiber arts since the age of five when her grandmother taught her to make crochet chains. This began her journey learning crochet, needlework, quilting, spinning, knitting and weaving. After homeschooling her children she began working at a local organic farm. In 2013 her family had an opportunity to move to Rochester, WA and move onto the property of that farm where she begin living her dream to farm. One day in 2015 she was asked to start tending a flock of sheep purchased by the farm. Thus the journey began! In 2016 she purchased an Ashford Traditional spinning wheel from a fellow farmer and took a beginning spinning class at Ewe and I. By the third class, she knew she wanted to learn everything there was to know about spinning and teach others. Teaching is her passion! In 2018, she discovered the Olds College six year Master Spinner Certification program in Alberta Canada and began working towards her certification in 2019. She is due to complete the program in 2026. In 2017 she and her family moved to a new home across the street from the farm and started their own homestead including a small flock of Finn Sheep, too many hens (and a rooster named Johnny Cash), a large vegetable/fruit garden and dye plants. Wendy teaches beginning knitting and spinning, fiber preparation (how to skirt and wash a fleece), how to use fiber tools for your best spinning, and offers private lessons.
